Why Babies Don't Get Full

Why Babies Don't Get Full.jpg

Babies who have just opened their eyes to life need care and intense attention from their mothers. Babies whose needs are met by their mothers cannot express themselves. For this reason, mothers have difficulty understanding whether their babies are full or not. And even some anxious mothers feel inadequate, thinking that they cannot feed their babies enough. But if mothers are careful, they can handle this issue with peace of mind.

Why Don't Babies Get Full?

There are various reasons why babies are not full, these are:

-Babies may not be fully fed due to incorrect sucking position during breastfeeding.

-The inappropriate suction cap on the feeding bottles of babies who consume formula is a small but effective device that prevents babies from getting full.

-Babies who consume formula consume different amounts of formula depending on their growth period. Babies cannot get enough because the amount of this food is small.

-In addition, the food consumed by the baby is also an effective factor in whether the baby is full or not. It causes unnecessary gas in babies, which both disturbs the baby and affects the baby's satiety.

How do we know if the baby is full?

Babies who are full, regain their energy and become very active after they are full. We may not be able to say that an inactive baby is fully satisfied after eating.

Breastfed babies breastfeed very often. They are breastfed by their mothers every 2 - 3 hours to ensure that their stomachs are full.

There are moments when breastfeeding mothers feel pain while breastfeeding. In these cases, babies have not actually grasped the breast completely. In this case, although babies cannot say that they are fully fed, it is said that there may be a lack of bond between mother and baby, and this does not form a good basis for the mother-child relationship in the future.

Babies become very tense and restless when they are hungry. There is even a belief that hungry babies clench their fists. Babies who relax after being fed become calmer and with this relaxation, their fists open.

Some conditions are also observed in the excretory system of a baby who is not full. The baby's pee becomes darker in color and they begin to poop at wider intervals.

Taking these into consideration, we can solve this issue easily. However, if the baby cannot gain weight, cannot poop for a long time, has dark urine, and is extremely tired and restless after meals, the baby must be taken to the doctor.
