All senses of the newborn baby such as hearing, sight, smell and taste, movement and touch are active. At the end of the forty-eight hour period following birth, babies prefer more complex visual stimuli. Even if simple shapes are very bright and vibrant colors, babies prefer black and white shapes.

This means that for them shapes are perceived before colors. What babies prefer to all other movement rhythms is the movement rhythm of their mothers shaking themselves.According to studies, it has been determined that babies in the nursery departments of hospitals seem happier and cry less under the control of certain sounds such as regular heartbeat.

One of the simplest learning abilities of watching newborns is their tendency to constantly get used to a stimulus.

According to research, babies; reacts differently to a new stimulus, but when the stimulus is repeated over and over, it can become a habit. But even a small change in the warning, which is the first and becomes a habit, is noticed by the baby. As a result of research, it can be thought that babies receive a certain stimulus simply and then get bored and expect a change.

Observations like these reveal the ability of babies to distinguish different sensations and make choices, and also indicate that your baby is open to learning from the moment of birth. In the meantime, it has been understood that the early stimulation of the baby's nervous system by the sensory organs provides him with a greater learning ability in later times, as a result of the researches on these subjects.

Do babies need to be constantly warned?

In studies conducted on young babies, it has been observed that babies who are little stimulated are indifferent to the environment and can startle more easily compared to the reaction of a normal amount of stimulated baby. It is thought that babies who are stimulated to the required extent are more concerned with the environment, can digest more information and have the ability to apply this information intelligently in problem-solving situations, and they can also develop their genetically determined intellectual powers better.
